Matthew Perry Doesn't Remember Filming Friends

Matthew Perry recently admitted in a People interview that he doesn’t really remember much of his life between seasons 3 and 6 of Friends. The NBC sitcom ran from 1994 to 2004, becoming one of the most successful sitcoms of all time. Perry suffered from substance abuse issues for a number of years as he struggled with dependence on alcohol and prescription drugs. In the interview, Perry was asked which seasons of Friends were his favorite, to which he responded he has a hard time remembering several years of filming.
Perry maintains that he never used drugs while filming. So if you’re poring over those three seasons to see if you can catch Perry slurring his words, you may be disappointed. Perry stated that, “I was never high at work. I was painfully hungover. Then eventually things got so bad I couldn’t hide it and everybody knew.” Perry’s issues led to a very public stint in rehab in 2001.
You may be excited for the upcoming Friends tribute special for director James Burrows, but it looks like Perry will not be attending. His absence is unrelated to these recent admissions as he actually scheduled to open a play in London that same week. He will be joining by video cast however. Had Perry been able to attend, the event would have marked the first time that all six actors were together publically since the end of the show.
But if you cant wait that long for your Friends fix, here’s a collection of the 15 funniest moments from the show.
