I’ve yet to meet a single American who thinks servicemen, servicewomen and veterans in this country get the credit and thanks they deserve. They don’t, and we all owe so much to them that we can’t even begin to say “thank you” sufficiently. Enter Disgruntled Decks, “a card game for military service members and grizzled Veterans, focusing on conversation through humor.”
Kickstarter and other crowdsourcing platforms have brought up gems like coolers being combined with blenders, a whole bunch of stupid shit no one really cares about anymore, and Cards Against Humanity. Well, now veterans have their own version of the modern classic card game.
Disgruntled Decks was designed to encourage people taking part in a larger conversation about our service members how they’re treated, and just what it means to be a part of the military family.

It’s no secret that service members and Veterans like to get together, have a few (well, maybe more than a few) drinks, and swap stories about deployment and the nonsense which accompanies military life.
With a unique blend of descriptive language and military themes, Disgruntled Decks gives one more reason for service members and Veterans to come together and talk about their shared experiences while having fun in the process.
I strongly believe that humor is healing, and some Veterans still have a good amount of healing left to do. I hope to provide some of that humor with Disgruntled Decks.
Besides being noble, that’s just downright forward thinking. Backers on Kickstarter can even create their own card for the deck, so long as they’re willing to donate at least $200. Aside from being an integral part in the creation of the game, $200 backers do get a deck of their own. If you can’t swing that much, a $30 pledge gets you your own deck of 300 cards, while a $50 pledges will get you a deck for yourself and another will go to a wounded veteran.
There is one chance for someone to truly leave their mark on the deck game, with the first person willing to pledge $1,000 being the recipient of one of the 300 card Disgruntled Decks, signed by the deck’s creator himself, an engraved Disgruntled Ammo Can with your name or custom message, and the chance to play the game with its creator in person. Don’t worry, he’ll come to you.
