The arrival of spring and transition to summer means it’s time for entertaining, cooking out and having fun (think of Cinco de Mayo). One of our favorite foods for late spring are avocados. Whether you’re making guacamole for a Cinco de Mayo celebration or looking to add some heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids to a salad, these egg-shaped fruits are perfect.
We’ve already mentioned guacamole and salads as great vessels for options when chowing down on this nutrient rich food, but avocados are also great served in classics like grilled cheese, diced into pico de gallo, used instead of mayonnaise on hamburgers and, believe it or not, even ice cream.
It is our favorite food this time of year.
