Essential oils are no longer restricted to yoga studios or spas, they are now a $1.2 billion business, and that’s all because of how effective they are.
These highly concentrated liquids extracted from plants have been used for centuries for beauty and healing purposes, and essential oils have been scientifically proven to be beneficial for our health.
Here are the essential oils every woman should always have on hand.

Lemon

Known for its distressing properties, lemon is calming, and it can also help with digestive issues. You can incorporate lemon oil into your daily routine by directly applying it on hard-to-clean body areas like elbows and knees. But the best way to take lemon oil would be by adding a few drops of it to lukewarm water, and drinking the solution on an empty stomach every morning.

Clary Sage

Clary Sage is a natural anti-depressant with soothing properties, and it can help with mood swings and blood pressure issues. You can either add a few drops of clary sage to bath salts or apply it directly on the body to ease cramps during the menstrual cycle.

Cinnamon

If you have a hangover from last night, or you just can’t seem to focus on work, a whiff of cinnamon could help. It has been proven that cinnamon improves focus and reduces frustration, which in turn helps you work better. But make sure you are only smelling cinnamon oil and not ingesting it.

Rosemary

Rosemary is another essential oil which can help increase focus and concentration by enhancing brainpower. It can reduce fatigue, energize and mentally stimulate you. This essential oil can be directly applied as a scent.

Lavender

The ultimate calming essential oil—Lavender can reduce stress and anxiety, and help with migraine pain. This essential oil is also incredibly healing if you have trouble sleeping. Diffuse it aromatically in the room before going to bed, or apply it to the soles of your feet, it will help either way.

Peppermint

Breathing in peppermint can help decrease stress and fatigue in the body. Here is a tip right from my grandmother—if you are noticing premature hair graying, then add a few drops of peppermint oil to coconut oil, and apply this solution to your hair every time before taking a bath.

Basil

Basil oil can soothe tiring and sore muscles, and help with your focus. With its antiseptic properties, basil oil can also be applied to insect bites to get rid of any irritation or redness. It can be applied directly on the body, or incorporated in cooking.

Tea Tree

With its antibacterial properties, tea tree oil can be used to get rid of pimples or brittle nails. Here’s a bonus—you can also use tea tree oil with your laundry detergent for cleaner clothes.

Ginger

Ginger can help with digestion and joint discomfort. If you are traveling to a higher altitude, carry some ginger oil with you, and keep smelling it to avoid any nausea or motion sickness. For joint discomfort, ginger oil can be directly applied to the affected area, or it can be taken directly by adding a few drops of it to warm water.

Geranium

Geranium can do wonders to your skin in just a few weeks. Add it to your beauty regime by mixing a few drops to your face or body cream and it will help balance and moisturize your skin.
