If you would ask people who they think is the best bodybuilder of all time, a lot of people would say Ronnie Coleman. This man had a physique that was the envy of many. He won Mr. Olympia eight times. This alone is a testament to how beautiful his physique was during his prime. When people found out about the Ronnie Coleman surgery, a lot of people became shocked. They cannot imagine how someone like Ronnie Coleman can be confined to his wheelchair. What amazes people is how he can still face the world with a smile on his face and no regrets about his long journey as an amazing bodybuilder.
Who is Ronnie Coleman?
For people who do not know who Ronnie Coleman is, he is considered to be one of the best bodybuilders of all time. Aside from winning Mr. Olympia 8 times, he has also won the IFBB 26 times. Compare this with the accomplishments of other bodybuilders and you will not see another bodybuilder who has reached the same status. It was in the year 2007 when he decided to sign off from the stage and people wondered if other bodybuilders will be able to live up to the type of standard he has raised.
There are people who are always speculating if he is going to come back. People know that if he decides to come back, it is only to reclaim his throng because, for most people, he is the king of bodybuilding. This may seem likely especially in the beginning when Ronnie Coleman surgery has not happened yet. But by the time that people learned about the surgery, they were shocked.
Past his Prime
At present time, Ronnie Coleman is in his 50s’ so it is obvious that he is well past his prime. People cannot assume anymore that he is going to come back soon and wow the audience the same way that he used to but in all honesty, people became bothered about Ronnie Coleman surgery. They cannot help but wonder if it is because of all the training he did to reach the body that he wanted during his prime. He started to undergo surgery from the year 2007 and the latest one so far happened in the year 2016. The last surgery was surprising for a lot of people because they never knew that he had problems with his back.
People were aware of his hip issues so the other surgery that he has had in order to fix his hips and his neck was sort of expected. But when people learned about his back surgery, they speculated even further.
Pushing the Body Too Far
A lot of people cannot help but speculate that perhaps Ronnie Coleman has pushed his body too far. Perhaps the body that he has had before when he was at 300lbs and muscular is not the ideal body that people should have because his body has suffered for it, right? There are a lot of people who still remember the 800 lb squat that he did. When Ronnie was asked about it, he stated it as the thing that he regrets. He only did 2 squats because this is what was allowed but he felt that he could have done 4 squats. He regrets that he did not do the extra 2 because, at his current state, he knows that he will never be able to do it anymore. He wished that he could have done it when his body was in the condition for it.
If he did those extra 2 squats, what could have happened to him? Would he have done it without problems or he would suffer from a back problem right then and there? People can only speculate about what could have occurred.
For other people to consider you good, you have to do things well but for other people to consider you exceptional, you have to do things that other people cannot. This explains why Ronnie Coleman is considered to be one of the best bodybuilders that the world has seen because he had as physique like no other person and he has done things that other bodybuilders cannot do.
Ronnie Coleman surgery may have occurred because of the things that he did before or it may also be because of genetics like he says wherein people in his family cannot walk anymore by the time they reached a certain age. No matter what the reason is, let us not forget to love your body and take good care of it.
