5. Chevrolet Corvette
This is not to imply that the Corvette is anything but an amazing car, because it is perhaps the most iconic American sports car ever made. With 460 horsepower, and a 0-60 time under 4 seconds, this car is simply a beast. A beautiful beast, though.
But let’s be honest; there is very little practicality here. The EPA estimates that drivers can expect to get 29 mpg on the highway, but anyone with driving experience knows this isn’t accurate. We will, however, give a pass to anyone who drives a Corvette without being a complete schmuck. This means obeying traffic laws, not riding someone’s tail, and generally being a considerate driver. If you’re not that guy, you’re compensating.
